Depends on the time. Kids are good around dinner time. It's a restaurant not a Brewery
Small plates, sandwiches, cheese platter, salmon platter
Recently tried this place out and LOVE it. The food is great, beer selection is great, atmosphere is very moody and dark, which I like. It's a BIT small, not meant for too many people, but I loved it.
Cool, dark vibe and great drinks. Can almost hear the heartbeat.
I love the Poe House restaurant in Henderson, NC. I was only staying one night and wanted to experience something local that expressed the culture of the town. I felt this was truly a hidden gem on the lower level and old historic type of building near Main St downtown that is decorated in Edgar Allen Poe themed decor. The downtown is so cute that it is worth taking the time to visit. The food is reasonably priced and gourmet plates were very good. We ordered the cheese plate, the meat plate, the Caprese salad and a beef sandwich, also with a suggested wine from the menu and a speciality alcohol free drink. We had good entertainment and service. I look forward to returning someday.
I celebrated my birthday here (it’s on the same day as Edgar Allan Poe). Kim did an amazing job of accommodating such a big group (20 of us). I will definitely be back. Great drinks, cozy atmosphere, it was perfect.
The serving of pate they gave me was ridiculous. So delicious and gigantic. Definitely worth a try.
Appropriate ambiance for "Poe" house, tasty food and drink.
This is the coolest place I have been to in some time. The vibe was so chill...and you can totally get Absinthe louched correctly here! The Dead Poet's Reading Room is my new favorite digs. You MUST check it out if you are in Hendersonville!
Dark comfy place below West First Pizza with an Edgar Allan Poe motif. Great beer selection and cocktails. 90s trip.hop as mood music. I had the brie and 🍐 crostini. My company enjoyed their gin cocktails.
Get something in a copper cup!
This is a wonderful bar with great food. I love going here for a drink or appetizer before starting my tour of downtown for dinner. They have live music and well themed restaurant/ bar. Nathan in the back is a great bartender that addresses the needs of all the patrons. A definite must for both locals and tourists alike.
Loved the Poe House! Good beer, good food and great company and employees!
Chef and servers could not have been nicer and courteous. Went above and beyond and made us feel like family.
We really enjoyed The Poe House. Drinks were fantastic. Music was great. People were friendly. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food and awesome cocktails in a really cool setting.
Food and music was good 👍 will be back
I had an awesome time celebrating my birthday with friends. The bartender was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. Great beer selection. Highly recommend checking it out.
REALLY cool/chill old-timey bar! They had a live musical act the night that we visited, but that was New Year's Eve, so I don't necessarily expect that that's common.
Great food in a cozy setting. Love the Poe references.
Great small plates and the best place in town for excellent beers and live music!
My favorite little cocktail spot in Hendo! Good friendly staff and awesome atmosphere even though I wish the ambiance was a little more macabre, given the name/theme.
Small bites, amazing wine and beer selection, full bar, really cool specialty drinks. And don't miss the Unhappy Hour specials!!
Great place for a cocktail!
While driving to downtown Hendersonville the sign for The Poe House caught my eye. It seemed like a neat bar or restaurant and it definitely was. The decor on the inside was all Edgar Allan Poe themed and they played somewhat modern music. The prices for their creative cocktails were also less than what I initially thought. On Tuesdays they have a champagne bar too where you can add different ingredients in that are in old fashion looking bottles. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes unique restaurants/bars and tasty, old fashion cocktails!
The Poe House is always a classic spot. I love going there anytime for a great time! The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and so is the staff. They also have vegan options (not just a salad) 👏👏👏👏👏! Sit at either of the two bars or the "couch room" as I call it or any of their many table options. There's generally live music there from time to time and it's by far one of my favorite local joints to hit up!
Cozy intimate atmosphere with great music!
Don't be a Poeser. Go get a beer from their ever changing collection.
Delicious food, live music, great drink selection! What a fun and cozy place to relax!
Great place with a nice theme friendly staff and good food. The restaurant is below ground level and provides a nice European feel just walking distance from a nice downtown. The live music can be interactive as well :-)
Love the Poe house. Good drinks with a mysteriously cool subterranean vibe.
As always, a fun place to while away an evening.
Walked in and before we could even blink, were rudely told they were over occupancy. We even had one table stand up and offer the table to us because they were leaving and they still refused to let us sit. It's not the fact that they were over occupancy that bothered us, but the way that the waiter went about telling us. Not ever making eye contact or apologizing as if we were a bother to him.
Unique atmosphere. We love it.
Very atmospheric and intimate place. Not for huge groups but a great place for a date or just to kickback and have a casual get together with a handful of friends.
Here almost every weekend! Great place. Great service.
Charcuterie board was great. We discovered a great wine to go with it. The staff is very friendly and appreciative of us being there to help them out.
Nice pub great options you would not typically find at other pubs. Nice atmosphere been a long time since I been there but it was nice. (I just don't drink often that's why)
Awesome atmosphere. Felt like a Speak Easy. Food was fantastic
I have always loved coming to this funky place. I was looking forward to a New Years Eve dinner and the dinner menu only has bar food. We were served a bag if chips one the side?? I am not sure what has changed but I was disappointed. side
The Poe House is a one of a kind pub with a home town atmosphere. Every time I go there I am met with lively, loving folks who know how to drink quality libations! Three cheers for the Poe House and it's fabulous staff!!!
Awesome local wine and coctail bar with live music and a distinctly E.A.Poe theme.
Outstanding service and very cool atmosphere. A stop you have to make if in Hendersonville
Had an amazing time. Great live music and draft beer!
Food was pretty good. I would recommend it
Been here a couple times. Excellent live music. Great drink selections and awesome food. Liked the vibe and layout of The Poe House. No complaints.
Small but quaint basement bar with taps that continually change beers. They have live music and food along with lovely staff that know their way around beer and wine. Great place to have a few drinks before exploring downtown Hendersonville.
Amazing atmosphere. Great drink selection. Fantastic cocktails. Awesome food. Good live music as well. Great place to grab a late snack without having to leave the bar scene. The whole theme fits perfectly with the basement-ness of the place.
I had no knowledge of what to expect when coming here with family while on a visit in town, but loved the dark and cozy atmosphere. I assumed the ambiance would be the best part, but was pleasantly surprised that the food we all ordered was not only delicious, but fresh and plated beautifully. I enjoyed the strawberry spinach salad, hummus with pita and vegetables, and the French bread appetizer. Service was excellent, our waitress was attentive and friendly. I’d enjoy coming back to have a glass of wine and hear the live music at night.
Very unique and cool.
Great hidden gem. The wine and apple/brie appetizer were delectable. Loved the atmosphere. The live music was a bit too loud for my taste but wasn't a problem while seated in the back. Can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Hendersonville.
Service was very slow. Food was excellent though
